I have registered a domain on a wordpress.com user and by mistake deleted this wordpress.com user. Hence the domain i registered also disappeared. Any idea how I can get this domain to register now on a different wordpress.com user?
The blog I need help with is yusuf1234567.wordpress.com.
I think you will need staff assistance. I’ll flag this for staff attention.
Just to be clear, you would prefer the domain to be switched to the new user than get a refund? (refunds for domains are only available for 48 hours after purchase anyway)
Absolutely right, I would like the domain to be switched to the new user. I thought of a refund as I can’t figure another way out. Any idea on how to switch a domain to new user? (problem is that I have deleted the user in which this domain was registered. So on my Dashboard I can’t reach out to Store and hence make any change on Domain.)
I think you will just have to wait for the staff to contact you.
You cannot delete users, only blogs, but I think that even if you can log win with the old account there will be no way to transfer the domain yourself.
Please be patient, the staff work through threads in order and it can take a time to get to you.
Can you give me the domain name in question, the user name, or the blog it was attached to so I can research the issue deeper?
I have added the domain ‘www.wisdomistan.com’ to my blog ‘yusufkocer.wordpress.com’ and by mistake I have deleted the ‘yusufkocer.wordpress.com’ blog. Now i am trying to add the domain ‘www.wisdomistan.com’ to another blog I have recently created but it doesnt allow me saying ” the domain is already mapped to a wordpress blog”.
I would like the “wisdomistan.com” domain to be free to map to another blog, and I would not like to pay again another 13 USD to do so, if at all possible.
I can move it over for you at no additional charge. What new WordPress.com site would you like it mapped to?
Could you please map ‘www.wisdomistan.com’ domain to ‘wisdomistan.wordpress.com’ site ?
Many thanks in advance
Sure thing. Since that site is owned by a different user name, I reached out via e-mail using the e-mail address listed on that other account to verify that they wish to accept the domain mapping.
I have replied you through the email address.
Thanks! You’re all set. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything else!
