Domain renewal on wrong user account

  1. I administer a blog on WordPress. The person who originally registered the domain name for our organization has left the organization. I used the DNS management settings to change the billing contact to our Treasurer, who is also an administrator on the blog. However, neither I nor the Treasurer nor I have received a renewal notice, and neither of us is able to renew the domain from the dashboard.

    Our domain registration is going to expire soon and we have no way to renew it. Please help!

    We have a serious issue. Our domain name is going to expire and we have no way to renew it.

    There doesn't seem to be any way to contact support except through the support forums, and nobody at WordPress seems to read them.

  5. Blogs do not belong to companies. They belong to the person who registered them under their username accounts. The person who has the username account that registered the blog in question must be the one who transfers the blog to another username account. See here for the instructions to follow >

    We need to be able to have someone renew the domain registration other than the user who originally purchased it for our organization. I changed the billing contact info on the DNS settings, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

  8. All that's required to register a username account here is an email address and that email address becomes the unique identifier. Every blog registered under the username and associated email address ie. unique identifier belongs to it and no one else.

    There are two separate email address settings at for every username account.

    Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

    Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

  9. I don't want to transfer the blog to a different username, I just want to be able to renew the domain registration. The blog is already under my username account.

    We purchased a custom domain name for the blog through WordPress, and we need to be able to renew the domain registration, but the person who originally purchased the domain registration is no longer with our organization.

    I already updated the contact information in the DNS settings, but WordPress won't allow any of the authorized contacts listed in the DNS settings to renew the domain registration.

  12. No I'm sorry I don't. :( Staff answer the threads with the earliest dates first and work their way forward through the threads by dates.

  13. It looks like the user jocobill originally purchased this domain name. I can transfer this upgrade to your user account so that you can properly manage this domain with that user's explicit permission. If you could ask him to post to this thread, I will take care of that for you.

    Let me know if this is an option for you!

    I see your domain as expiring in early April, so we have a little bit of wiggle room on this. Obviously, we'd like to get it cleared up right away for you, but if you were worried you'd lose your domain shortly, it's not the case.

  14. Thank you. Ideally, I'd like to transfer the domain upgrade to our Treasurer's user account, since she will be paying the domain renewal bill. She's also an administrator on the blog. Her username is kellycpa2012.

    I'll try to contact jocobill and ask him to post to this thread, giving permission to change the domain upgrade to kellycpa2012's user account.
