Hey. I’m in the process of moving my old website to WordPress. This is mostly to save costs from hosting fees. My domain is currently registered (and hosted) through 1and1. WordPress support said that they are “currently unable to accept incoming domain transfers”.
I really love to rave the domain registered with WordPress, just to keep things simple (rather than have it registered elsewhere and pointed here). So, what I want to know is, if I “unlock” the domain at 1and1’s end, will that enable me to register it as a “new” domain here?
I don’t really understand how that works. Please, only answer if you know for sure.
The blog I need help with is chitowngeorge.wordpress.com.

Yes, wordpress.com offers domain mapping and dreamsburnred has posted the link to support documentation.
