Hello, my site was previously janaemonir.wordpress.com. I purchased the new domain janaemonir.com through DreamHost. I went to the domain upgrade page here at wordpress and entered the new nameserver codes. It transferred, I paid, and now all my content is gone. Was there another step I was supposed to do? What do I do now? I am really confused. Please help. I am willing to cancel the domain mapping I purchased if I’ll get my blog back.

    Thank you,
    Janae

The blog I need help with is janaemonir.com.

I would just like to add that everything works in my stats/dashboard pages as usual as if nothing happened. The problem is when I click the link to my blog, all of the content is gone.

You need to point the domain to the WordPress.COM name servers at Dream Host – THEN do domain mapping to your janaemonir.com name here on the blog that you are mapping.

All your content is safe – just in name server confused – it can also take 24 to 72 hours for all the changes to work across the internet.

It looks like you have things correct: http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/janaemonir.com

But caching locally can be a problem. The site resolves fine for me.

Thank you for the info. I think I’m a little in over my head. I’ve found that the site works when I have the wordpress.com version as my primary domain, and doesn’t work when the .com is the primary. I will keep tinkering, but as long as you say the content is safe, I feel much better! Thanks :)

Sorry, a few more questions. Can you tell me how to point domain to the name servers @ dream host? Also, how can I do domain mapping to the janaemonir.com if I’ve already done it (and paid)?

When the mapping issue is resolved, will all the content from the wordpress.com site automatically show up on the new janaemonir.com?

Thank you for all your help.

Sorry, last bit of info: I DID find the name server info found on DreamHost and plugged it into WordPress’s domain upgrade page. When it worked, I paid.

What was on your WordPress.com site is EXACTLY what will be on janaemonir.com site – they are the same site – the domain mapping just changes the name, nothing else!
