Last week, I bough a domain name to redirect my blog hosted by wordpress. The initial web address of my blog was http://www.granolalime.wordpress.com and i wanted it to become http://www.granolalime.com.
I bought this domain name from ovh (a french company) and did all the steps mentioned in the tutorial of wordpress (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/) but unfortunately, it doesn’t work. I realized that something was missing in my parameters : the “edit DNS” part and I think my problem is coming from that point.
Why haven’t I this option? I bought the 13$ mapping so I think that everything should be ok but when I load my page, anything appears, and I already contacted my domain hoster who said the problem was coming from wordpress.
Could you please help me because i already lost 1 week of mapping and I don’t want to have paid for nothing.
Thanks in advance!
The blog I need help with is www.granolalime.com.
Here is a printscreen showing what I was talking about.
In the tutorial (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/) it is well shown that the option “Edit DNS” should be activated (http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/primary_domain.png). Why mine isn’t?
This appears to be resolved; I can see your WordPress.com blog at granolalime.com. Are you still having problems viewing your blog at that URL?
Also, it can take up to 72 hours for a new registration to go through and map. You may have been caught in that window.
No actually I had to contact the wordpress technical team to solve my problem. I had already more than 1 week of notice so it wasn’t a problem of registration… It seems they forgot to activate an option forthe mapping of my domain, fortunately it works now.
Have a nice day!
I’m glad that this was resolved!
