Domain/design renewal problem

  1. Hello everybody !

    I'm Thomas from France and I created the website speedhunters-fr a year ago.

    As scheduled, the domain and the design expired and I was pretty sure both of them would renew automatically. Unfortunately, I forgot my credit card had changed since last year so when I tried to enter the new one, it was indeed refused.

    Is there a solution ? Because I've read some members had to pay a 80 $ fee and it would be a shame since my custom design is supposed to expire tomorrow...

  2. I've modlooked this thread for you. The amount you must pay to renew an expired domain depends on how long the name has been expired. We volunteers cannot help, but the modlook tag will tell someone from staff to look into this issue. Please subscribe to this topic so you will be notified when someone responds.

    In fact, the domain expired on August 31st so I missed the renewal just for a couple of hours.

  4. Just subscribe, and wait for a staff response. Chances are, even though the domain expired, you may not have to pay the large fee to renew it. Don't know for sure, but you may be lucky. Letting a domain name expire is not a good thing, but once you have it, use it, and want to keep it, then it's worth taking care of however must needs be. Let's hope for the best! is still live and online.

    edited to add: it is a holiday weekend here in the U.S. so you may not hear from staff as quickly as you like. They will help though, so keep cool!

    You can still renew both your domain and the custom design upgrade under Store > My Upgrades in your site's dashboard here:

    You can click on the "Renew Now" button next to each upgrade to enter your new credit card information. If the new card is refused, please contact your credit card company to see if they are blocking the transaction. (Some credit card companies do this to prevent fraud. In that case, you will need to ask them to allow the transactions to go through.)

    If you continue to have trouble renewing your upgrades, please let me know.

    First of all, thanks for your reply. I tried again to enter my credit card information but it is still refused.
    So you must be right, the problem must come from my credit card company. I'll contact them and I'll keep you up.

    I've been to my credit card company this morning and I've been told WordPress was blocked by them. So they will contact me on Tuesday, I'll keep you up.
