  1. Hi there,

I understand that wordpress does not allow for self-initiated advertising.

I was wondering what the terms of use on donations received for the site? I was reading the terms of service, and didn't find any policies on the extent that donations can be collected.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is

  2. On free hosted blog we can use a contact form and/or a PayPal donation button for sale of only products or services created or provided by ourselves.

  3. Thank you so much for replying timetheif. How does wordpress define "product or service created or provided by ourselves"? If I write a book with original content provided by me. I could ask for donations/sell the book through my free wordpress hosted site?

  4. Yes, you can do that.

  5. And if I run a non-profit, can I take donations via PayPal for that on

The bottom line here is that there that our free hosted blogs cannot be equipped for ecommerce and reselling ie. retailing the work of others is not allowed on our blogs.

  8. Thank you!

    You're welcome.

  10. that was an amazing response. TY! Do you guys know anything about message board hosting, and whether WP has its own? Or what are some good free hosted message boards?

I just answered that question in your other thread here and I'm here to tell you that posting off-topic into threads like you did here only causes confusion so please don't do it again.

  12. thank you time theif! Won't happen again ;)

I was also wondering, are you able to setup the paypal donation button as a sort of subscription service? In the sense that instead of one donation upfront, you can have donation every month. Ie. $10 in first month, then $2/month thereafter to support future exclusive site content
