Downtime, theme problems.
Over the past hour, I’ve been experiencing server maintenance errors off and on and about 10 minutes of my blog being online after the first error, it had no theme. It shown like part of the previous theme, without the header or anything and I went into my administration panel / dashboard and it said “by” for the theme, meaning it was no theme by no one. Strange?
I clicked on my theme in the list of all the times and it enabled it and it works fine. I can’t be sitting here all day monitoring whether or not my site is working and whether or not the theme is functioning properly. I have viewers that want to see the latest posts, search engines crawling the site, who definitely don’t want to be bothered by errors. I’ve never experienced such things with WordPress.com since I came here.
I’m sorry you are experiencing these problems but bloggers answering questions on the forum don’t have backend access to blogs and are not given any special information by staff. On weekends Mark monitors these threads and will attend to anything urgent but other matters must wait until weekdays to be attended to. It also seems that some coding may be going on during weekends because as of late this seems to be when things become “broken”.
Most stuff I publish (if ever) is of no consequence. My ego does not let me believe that if it was suddenly unavailable for whatever reason it would make any difference to anything…………….
