Drag and drop widgets setting and shortlink button not working in Firefox

    Hello there,

I have notice in the past few days that I cannot config the sidebar in my blog just by drag and drop (and therefore I can’t change the order of the widgets or add new ones) when using WordPress.com through the latest versions of Firefox and Firefox Aurora. The button “get a shortlink” when editing a post doesn’t work either.

Everything works fine using Chrome, and all those things work perfectly through Firefox in my self-hosted WordPress blog.

    I’m using MacOs X 10.5.8.

I’m on Mac also and and in Firefox 9.0.1 I have no issues with drag and drop on widgets and the shortlink button works fine.

First suggestion is to log out, clear the FF cache and cookies, restart FF and then try again.

If that doesn’t work, disable any and all add-ons/plugins that you may have installed in FF, restart FF and then try again. If it works with all add-ons/plugins disabled, then it is a conflict between wordpress and one of them. You can then try activating them one at a time to find out which one is causing the issue.

Also in your FF preferences make sure that javascript is enabled.

just a quick addition to what thesacredpath suggested.
you can easily disable your Firefox add-ons by going into the menu and selecting “restart without add-ons”
it is usually found in the “Help menu”
(this… if you chose to disable firefox plugins)
