Drop down menus aren't dropping down (Pilcrow Theme)

  1. Hi, guys,

    So a couple months ago, seemingly out of the blue, I noticed that my drop down menus on my wordpress blog (Pilcrow theme) weren't dropping down. Beneath the "Friends" tab, there should appear a long list of other songwriters, etc, but it's not appearing any more. When I go to the back-end, all seems to be normal. All of the links under "Friends" are there and active, from what I can tell. Just, nothing happens on the front end when you mouse over the word "Friends."

    Any ideas as to what might be the culprit? Any help is much appreciated!

  2. Assuming you created a custom menu, go to appearance > menu and in the "theme location" module at upper left, select your custom menu from the "primary location" pulldown and then click save.

  3. I did create a custom menu, yes. I named it "test" (ended up being the actual menu rather than a test, but still called "test.") However, "test" was already selected and saved in the Primary Navigation pull down at the top left on the "menus" page. Tried reseting and saving it... still no drop downs.

  4. Hi there,
    Edit the sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu and the save the menu and see if that works.

  5. Review the the custom menu support page and look over your menu.

  6. None of the sub pages are actually pages. They're custom links. The "friends" tab isn't linked to anything (just navigation label: "Friends" and URL blank), then I have 3 sub-levels labeled "Team," "Supporters," and "Musicians." Those aren't links, either, they're just labeled. Then I list links to my Team, Supports and Musicians under those respective sub-levels. Those are linked to each of their websites, if that makes sense.

    Like I said, this was and had been working just fine for a long time. Just quit working recently.

    You will have to contact Staff. Here’s the link. After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
