Duster – Custom Menu Dissapear when activate
I was trying to set up a custom menu for my blog, however when I tried to do it and told duster to use my custom menu, it completely disappeared from the page so I had to enable the default menu again.
All I want to do is to have a drop-down menu as follow:
* Home (to be a feature page, static so I can display recent entries nicely)
About us (Genral info about the blog)
* Articles (All my post entries I want them here)
Can someone please help me out on how to do this?
The blog I need help with is blogafi.org.
If you have “saved” the menu you have made, have you also selected that menu name from the primary location pulldown in the “theme location” module at upper left and then saved?
Also, we need a link to the blog you are talking about so that we can take a look. The blog linked to your username is wearing twenty ten, not duster.
You have to create a new page called home and then in the attributes module select “showcase” from the page template pulldown and then publish the page. Next go to settings > reading and “front page displays a static page” and select your showcase page as the front page, and select your articles page as your posts page and save the changes.
For the featured post at the top, go to posts and set the post you want as your featured post as a “sticky” post and if you want an image to show, set a featured image as well.
If you want just a full-width image to show, the image has to be uploaded and set as a featured image in the sticky post, and has to be 1000px wide by at least 300px tall.
