Edin grid & child page

  • Hi! Hoping someone can help me out. How do I organize my child pages by date so they appear in order on the parent grid page? They’re totally out of order. Another problem I’m trying to solve is how to not have my feature image used as the header for my child pages. They look great in thumbnail versions on the grid page but when you click on it I would like it not to be scene as a landscape cover photo because it looks terrible. A way around this is to not have a feature image but then the grid page is solely text with not pictures. Please help :)

  • Hi there!

The child pages won’t automatically sort by date, but you can manually set the order :)

If you edit a child page, you can open the Page Attributes section of the left hand menu. Inside Page Attributes is an ‘Order’ field.

Enter a number here – the page with the lowest value will appear first, highest value last.

Edin uses the featured image for each page in the header automatically. The only way to prevent that would be to override it with a different image using Custom CSS, which is available with a WordPress.com Premium or Business Plan. :)
