Editing code in widget.php has brought my entire site down

  1. I was trying to add a Twitter feed to my site. I put the code in the code I got from twitter into the widget.php file. It didn't work, and I deleted it, but I must have deleted something else as well because the entire site is down now and when I click on appearance - editor - widget.php I get a blank page. That is happening for almost all .php files I click on in the editor.

Please note that I am not a tech person in any way whatsoever. If you respond, please be very, very basic. You can chastise me later for touching the code.

The blog I need help with is

  2. into the widget.php file

You need to post to the support forum dedicate3 to your software. and are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  4. Hi, Your site is using the standalone WordPress software. You need to head over to's support forum for help.

  5. Thank you all for your super quick responses. I ended up contacting bluehost and they fixed it for me. Thank goodness!

Next time I will be sure to post in the right forum. Well, let's hope I never touch any of the code again to begin with and there won't be a next time. Me and my not-so-bright ideas!
