I have 2 domain names – a .co.uk one and a .com one both pointing to my wordpress account from 123reg. Everything is working fine except the emails for my .co.uk.
I set up 2 email addresses with 123reg for my .com domain before I pointed it to wordpress, my .co.uk is now pointing to wordpress but has no email accounts in connection with this. I have changed the DNS email settings with wordpress as instructed by 123reg but they are now saying that because my domain names are now pointing to wordpress I have to add the email addresses through this. But I cannot work out how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is lilyspecialevents.co.uk.
I’ve gone ahead and taken a look at your domain names, and both of them seem to have perfectly legitimate MX records set up for them. Could you please ask your email providers at 123reg what is wrong with the MX records? If they could give a better idea of what is wrong, we can go about fixing them with your help! :)
Thank you for your help. The problem is that I have not set up email addresses for the .co.uk domain name. 123reg said I do it through you guys as I have now got my domain pointing at wordpress but cannot find where to do this?
We actually do not provide email services at WordPress.com. We concentrate on providing the best possible hosting platform that we can and we leave the email to people who are great at that. That’s why we give you the ability to point your MX records wherever you want!
So your email is actually pointed right back at 123reg right now. If they do not want to setup email for you, we have an article which provides you the names of a bunch of other email providers, some of them free some for a small fee, who our customers have had good results with:
Let me know if you have any other questions!
I’ve managed to sort it, thanks.
