Email forwarding seems to have died

    Hello,

    I’m not sure how long it has been going on, but emails to my one and only @leo-woolcock address don’t seem to be getting forwarded to my Gmail. It’s a bit worrying that I could have lost a month of mail because the system has been dropping them… The last successful email was on 9th Sept. I have just realised now and have send test emails from several places and also deleted and then re-added the address through the WP admin.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi there,

    I took a look at your setup and everything seems to be setup correctly on our end. Your domain’s DNS is pointed correctly, and so is the forwarder itself.

    Is it possible that you have a filter set up within your gmail account which might be directing the mail in some way? You may want to try whitelisting email that is addressed to your leo-woolcock.co.uk address by setting up a filter to never send it to spam. This will help within your email account, but of course if Gmail has decided that the source address is spammy then it could be blocking it on a higher level which we have no control over.

    Should that be the case, the only thing I could recommend is that you set the domain up with proper email hosting (perhaps with Google Apps) to help reduce the chances of email going awry.

    OK, thanks. It does seem that some of the emails have now come through – perhaps there is some latency in the system!

    It wasn’t going to the spam folder but I have applied a filter which keeps it out of there in any case.
