How to embed certain objects (G-docs + widgets) ?

  1. Hi there,

sorry to bother you but I have been experiencing a few issues with embedding objects into my posts.
The first issue was regarding a widget supplied by a fundraising website, I copied their exact code and pasted into the HTML section, but the widget doesn't work, perhaps this is due to a faulty code from the fundraising website, but maybe you can help me. here is the code:

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" height="230" width="150" align="middle" data="" flashvars="EggId=3061844&IsMS=0"><param name="movie" value="" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="flashvars" value="EggId=3061844&IsMS=0" /></object>

I have also tried embedding a Google Docs spreadsheet using the instructions given by wordpress and the following code, but to no effect, the spreadsheet doesn't even show up.

    <iframe width='500' height='300' frameborder='0' src=''></iframe>

I was wondering whether this could be an issue with the theme I am using (twenty-ten) or if it is due to the code, or even what I do with it (I paste in the html directly).

    Thank you for your time,

  2. For security reasons, you can't embed any flash code in your pages.

About the first widget, the flash one, please get in touch with the website providing it to check if an html only version is available.

About your Google Docs spreadsheet, can you please check if it is set to public or private, according to these instructions?

  3. Thank you very much for your quick reply, I will contact the website asking for an HTML code as soon as possible.

With regards to the spreadsheet, the privacy was set to public, but still doesn't display.

  4. Is your spreadsheet a document created in Google Docs, or a document you imported there?
