Embedding flickr slideshow

Hello everyone. I’m new to WordPress and am still trying to get a feel of its full potential. It will be a blog with heavy use of photos and as I use Flickr a lot to organise my work, I was wondering if it is possible to embed a Flickr slideshow in a post or page. I’ve tried simply copying and pasting the embed slideshow code from Flickr, but it simply gets cancelled out during the preview or publish phase. Thanks for any advice, Sarah.

The blog I need help with is lynkosnatura.wordpress.com.

If you do a search of the Support documents I believe you’ll find the instructions for embedding a Flickr slideshow http://support.wordpress.com/

I had looked through the support first, and have just looked there again, but I can’t find anything that helps. Embedding Flickr videos yes, and also sets with thumbnails… but not a slideshow. I’ve tried all sorts of variants on the instructions, but so far have not come up with anything. Don’t suppose you could point me in the right direction (blushing smiley), Sarah.

You’re right: the Support documents are wrong. Just use the Flickr Video shortcode as explained here http://en.support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/

Many thanks. I’ve followed the instructions, also trying several variants for the link, but unfortunately it just doesn’t work for me. I just get a blackbox (http://lynkosnatura.wordpress.com/). But then, a test with a “real” flickr video chosen at random doesn’t work either, so maybe the problem lies with Flickr and their new restyling. I’ll try posting a query there as well. It’s not a major problem and all the rest works just fine… a really great publishing application with enormous potential. Can’t wait to get going!

Yes, it’s probably a Flickr problem. They messed up the Flickr widget as well.
