Embedding Playlist from Grooveshark

I have looked on all the forums (http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/inserting-grooveshark-audio-players/) to find how to embed a playlist on my footer or post and have tried writing a lot of code. WordPress.com changes the code into a link. Here’s the embed code I wanted to use either on a footer widget or on a sticky post on the front page. It either tells me its not a URL or its just a link.

What’s the best way to embed playlists and which player (grooveshark, playlist, etc) is the best for wordpress.com? Here’s my embed code grooveshark gives me for the playlist 1, I tried shortening it, but I really don’t know what’s necessary and whats not:

    <object width=”250″ height=”250″ classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″ id=”gsPlaylist-164″ name=”gsPlaylist-164″><param name=”movie” value=”http://grooveshark.com/widget.swf” /><param name=”wmode” value=”window” /><param name=”allowScriptAccess” value=”always” /><param name=”flashvars” value=”hostname=cowbell.grooveshark.com&playlistID=-1&bbg=000000&bth=000000&pfg=000000&lfg=000000&bt=FFFFFF&pbg=FFFFFF&pfgh=FFFFFF&si=FFFFFF&lbg=FFFFFF&lfgh=FFFFFF&sb=FFFFFF&bfg=666666&pbgh=666666&lbgh=666666&sbh=666666&p=0″ /><object type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”http://grooveshark.com/widget.swf” width=”250″ height=”250″><param name=”wmode” value=”window” /><param name=”allowScriptAccess” value=”always” /><param name=”flashvars” value=”hostname=cowbell.grooveshark.com&playlistID=-1&bbg=000000&bth=000000&pfg=000000&lfg=000000&bt=FFFFFF&pbg=FFFFFF&pfgh=FFFFFF&si=FFFFFF&lbg=FFFFFF&lfgh=FFFFFF&sb=FFFFFF&bfg=666666&pbgh=666666&lbgh=666666&sbh=666666&p=0″ /><span>Playlist 1 on Grooveshark</span></object></object>

The blog I need help with is jarrettphotography.wordpress.com.

I suggest that you go back to those instructions here and read them very carefully as Panos (justpi) is extremely precise and what he writes does work. > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/inserting-grooveshark-audio-players/

Thank you for your feedback. I understand if my question is not answerable by wordpress due to time/support limitations. I have read the article and for a newbie, writing and editing code is very difficult. It is also confusing when Updates to the article are among existing/non-working(?) code advice. In addition, there is no “widget” option for playlists and that is not covered in the article.

    My questions were:
Which part of the code is necessary/not necessary?
Can I include the whole code Groveshark gives me?
Can this player be embedded in a footer widget?
Should it be embedded in a post instead?
