embedding something from - can't see it!

  1. I have searched the forms some, but I'm not finding any answers that are direct enough to help me, so I'm trying this. I am a teacher running an election blog with my students, and one thing we're doing involves making a magazine on I chose the "html code" function on and got the code to copy into my page, but I cannot make it work (can't see the magazine in it's interactive form)! I tried doing it in both Explorer and Firefox. What am I missing? Is this possible on WordPress? I am not HTML-fluent; is that the problem? Is Flash the issue? Please help - any info would be appreciated.

  2. Post the code here you are trying to past in. Put the code between backticks (the key to the left of the number 1 on your keyboard) and we'll take a look.

  3. <div><object style="width:335px;height:230px" ><param name="movie" value="" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" style="width:335px;height:230px" flashvars="mode=preview&previewLayout=white&username=m20rules&docName=seattle_amicus&documentId=080908052108-9baeff6692f34591ab32e7f03c54d1a7&backgroundColor=0099cc&layout=grey" /></object><div style="width:335px;text-align:left;"><a href="" target="_blank">Get your own</a> - <a href="" target="_blank">Open publication</a><a href="" target="_blank"><img src="" border="0" /></a></div></div>

NOTE: when I click "save" after inserting this, it processes, shortens the length of code greatly, and then only has a link to the site's hosting of it instead of the actual viewer.

  4. Re your note: Yes of course - it strips out the flash part. Flash, java, frames and forms are not allowed, for security reasons.

  5. well, there it is. Thanks for helping me.

  6. You can always use the pure HTML link to the document you wish people to see. When they click on the link, they are then taken to a page off of your site where they can view it. You can even set up the link to open in a new page if you wish.

  7. Or you can crop a picture and link that up. See one of my post for example:

Issuu is a wonderful site by the way, I hope WP collaborates with them and make a widget.

  8. Maybe something can be done with vodpod? Might be worth a shot.
