Embeeded Vimeo videos
As this thread shows, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3818&page&replies=22, there is quite a interest to the ability to embed Vimeo video in wordpress post.
Vimeo offer video sharing over the web. What makes it different is the ability to share high quality video, up to 1280*960 res and High Definition is supported.
Actually if you embed vimeo code in a wordpress post, the video is not showed.
its because you can only upload google and youtube videos not vimeo
I know the reason :) Here I am talking about “implementing a new feature” for vimeo videos.
Volunteers answering forum questions have nothing to do with the selection of new features. Perhaps you would like to make staff aware of your idea. If so support hours are weekdays 9-5 PM Pacific time and you can use this link to make your request http://wordpress.com/contact-support/
just as in the Last.fm case, I suppose Vimeo needs to provide an apropriate fauxml plugin (no-brainer) for use with wordpress.com before they can even consider adding one, or better yet make some sort of the agreement/deal/whatever with Automattic.
so apparently the OP needs to be nagging Vimeo, in the first place, about this rather than sending feedbacks here.
I just came over from Vimeo forums (http://www.vimeo.com/forums/topic:1221) and got to know that WordPress.com supports Vimeo now.
(clip numbers are for demonstration):
@waffle: Thanks, that’s good to know for when it comes up in the future. Good news. :)
Just FYI I found a tool that helps you add video from your web cam, cell phone, and PC hard drive. If you want to use it go tohttp://www.azoocacapture.com/campaign/8/index.php. By the way it is free to use.
Yes, Vimeo is now supported: http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/11/21/how-do-i-post-a-vimeo-video/
YAY! Thanks for posting this good news Toni. :)
