excerpt HTML friendly?

    I was curious to know whether the excerpt part of the editor allows HTML. I have included HTML (img and links) in excerpts but they do not show up; instead the HTML is lovingly displayed on the screen instead. :o/ Am I just picking the wrong themes, or does the excerpt not allow HTML tags?

    Thanks!

    PS: My current blog theme isn’t excerpt friendly, so there isn’t an example on the blog.

    The blog I need help with is anotherdaygone.wordpress.com.

    @anotherdaygone,

    Please include a link to your blog whenever you ask a question here in the forums. Starting with http://
    Often it is necessary for us to take a look at your blog in order to answer your question accurately.
    If this is you:

    then
    I can see you are using the Blix theme.
    It is one of the few themes that can use the excerpt function even in the main pages.

    And yes, it can include HTML.

    In fact, it works beautifully.

    “Note that the Excerpt box is a plain text editor. So if you want anything other than a simple text summary, you must work your way using html – or temporarily create and format the content in the visual editor of the post, then switch to html, copy the result from there and paste it in the Excerpt box.”

    @anotherdaygone: Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

    @t3ck: No, the excerpt box is a full html editor; but it doesn’t work in all themes.
