I exported my files from one WordPress blog to another from (April-today). However, no files from 8.22.07-10.04.07 made it in the process….. Why?

I’m sorry I can’t help you. Staff do monitor these threads and in order to help you they need to know:
    – your browser
    – your browser version
    – your FULL blog address (not the name, the real address that begins http:// )
    – your FULL username
    – your REAL email address that is registered here
    – and a very good description of the exact problem.

    browser – Mozilla Firefox
    version – the latest
    blog address – http://dwil.wordpress.com/
    username – dwil
    email – (email redacted)

the problem: I exported all “dwil” – related files from The Starting Five to Sports On My Mind. The blogposts from 8.23.07 to 10.04.07 did not export…. What can I do to export the missing blog posts?

Open up the export file in a plain text editor and make sure those entries are in the export. You can do a simple search for a unique phrase that shows up in one of the missing posts.

Sorry. I have no idea what to do. It was just something to check. If a staff member doesn’t reply to you within the thread you can use the support button on your dashboard when support opens up on Monday (9am PDT).

dwil, have you been able to find an answer to your problem? I exported entries from a typepad account and none from the past six months made it, either, and I was wondering if anyone from support was able to help.

Staff will be able to help, but they would require you to talk to them directly for sure. Is there any errors or items that don’t import on the screen? Does it say anything in the progress report?

I am having the same issue.

Also would be nice if you could select the time frame to pull.

looking at my XML out put, the first post is showing a posting date of 1970. Oh I think that is wrong. It appears that those are pages, not posts. Ones not pub’d show dates of 0000-00-00.

It appearss that Catagories go first, then pages, then posts in reverse chron order.

I wonder if I could edit out the posts I don’t want imported from the file? Hmmm.

You should be able to edit the XML in a text editor, but make sure you keep a copy of the original in case you accidentally delete a crucial closing tag or something :)

*lmao* backups? wee dun need nuh stinkin backups.

I have multi-edit set to auto-bak everything, and XML is pretty forgiving…most of the time.
