I have a blog hosted at WordPress.com (http://blog.patricius.name) and it is oriented around software development and programming. For that reason, I sometimes would like to post source code, and the syntax highlighting feature of WordPress comes in handy.
For my blog, I have selected a theme with a narrow text column that makes the blog more readable and less stressful to the eyes. This puts a certain restriction on how wide I can make my source code, before the reader is forced to scroll horizontally. It kind of ruins the aesthetics.
I was thinking that maybe the syntax highlighting feature could be extended, such that source code can be displayed in a pop-up window instead of directly on the page. The page should have a link that opens the pop-up window with the syntax highlighted source code instead.
With kind regards,
