Facebook comments to WordPress?

  1. I have Twitter enabled so that when I post something on my blog, it updates my Twitter account. I have my Facebook account set up to import whatever my Twitter status is as my Facebook status. What is resulting is that when I write a post on my WordPress blog, people are seeing a link on Facebook, reading the blog post, and then commenting on it in Facebook. I'm just wondering if there is a way to import the comments from Facebook as comments on the post itself in WordPress.

The blog I need help with is

  2. No, there isn't. You can disable Comments on Facebook, but it won't drive the commenters to post on your blog. People like to comment on things where they see them.

You could ASK them if you can import their comments, and then do Copy/Paste

  3. There are a few plugins out there, but I can't seem to get it to work.

    It's called Facebook Comments

But I been waiting for an update for the plugin because I would really like to use this.

I don't really like that facebook makes a note for all of the post on my blog. But Oh well. I would just prefer people to post on my blog.

  4. @nerwin, sorry, you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.

If you do not know the difference, see this support document: .

  5. I didn't even realize that I was here, haha. I'm sorry.

  6. Not a problem.

  7. Does that mean there is not a "Facebook Comments"-type plug-in for users? I too would love to have comments appear directly on my blog site, but more often I get them via Facebook or LinkedIn because I export my blog to those accounts. I don't get that many comments, so when I do get them I would like them to appear everywhere!

Please post the complete url for the blog to which you refer starting with http://

  9. Hi timethief,

I apologize for not keeping up with the thread of this conversation -- I thought I would receive an email when a reply was posted, and I didn't bother to check back until now! Sorry.

Are you requesting the URL to my general blog ( Or to the specific blog posts that have received comments on Facebook?

  10. We ALWAYS require a direct link to the blog in question, because fully a third of people asking questions here are in the wrong forum. We need to see the blog.

In this case, there are no plugins at all available for your blog, because it is hosted here at

As well, the forum is staffed by volunteers. We don't email answers, but provide them here in the forum for the benefit of all users. This way people with similar questions can read threads and learn the solutions, and we don't have to answer the same questions a hundred times.

And as we said above, people own the copyright of their comments and may not feel comfortable having them appear in places they didn't post them. Ask.

  11. There are 5 methods I know of to get snippets and links from blogs to Facebook (Note: not whole posts because that would amount to duplicate content).

  12. You are asking about posting comments and I can't help with that. If a reader has a link to the post they can find the comments on the post. Spamming the blogosphere with duplicated content is not the way to go.

  13. @mjongsma
When you read my two comments immediately above you may conclude that I don't understand you and what you want to achieve, but rest assured when I say I do.

I don't know any way of posting comments from Facebook to your blog unless there is a feed to them. If there is an RSS feed to your comments at Facebook then you can use an RSS widget and post it in your blog's sidebar

  14. Thank you, all, for all your help. I'm learning a lot!

  15. You're welcome. and best wishes. :)
