My blog is connected to FaceBook. A few people have reported that when they click the link to connect to the blog they receive a pop-up saying they have a virus. They have no other indication that their iPad or iPhone has a virus. Help, please.

The blog I need help with is wheresweinberger.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi theweereadingneuk,

Several people are reporting the same issue. We don't serve pop-up ads on WordPress.com so we are looking into what is causing this. We'll post an update in this thread when we have more information:

  5. Hi folks,

I just wanted to drop in and ask if you have seen or had reports of any more pop-up ads within the last few hours?

We received reports from four individuals on Sunday. We don’t know if others were affected or if this has occurred on any additional days.

When possible, we would like to post something on our Facebook page to apprise our viewers steps to take to avoid this in the future OR steps that have been taken to avoid this in the future.

    Thank you again!

  7. Hi f4studionashville,

Ok, thanks for sharing. If you receive any new reports of pop-ups (after Monday 19th), it would be a great help if you could let me know.

    Will do. Thank you.

  9. Hi wheresweinberger and f4studionashville,

I have some more information for you. Our ads team have identified where the ads were coming from. A few advertisers submitted pop-up ads without our knowledge and they were disabled as soon as we identified the source — so you shouldn't see any more of them now.

Thanks for your patience while we got to the bottom of this.

  10. Hello we are now experiencing this problem too. Advice? Thank you

  11. Hi rainycitykids,

Please start a new thread for your question and tag it with 'modlook'. We'll take a look.

    Thanks!
