Facebook Like Box Issue (in a text widget)

  1. Hello - I hope somebody can help me: I followed all advice I found on the internet and still I can't seem to get the Like box to work. What I did: create a text widget in the sidebar - copy paste the code into the widget save

With the first code I just get a link - With the second code nothing ...

It would be great if somebody could help me with this ...

    This is my blog:

This is the page I want to create the like box for:

This are the two codes facebook gives me (you can use either one):

    <iframe src="" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:292px; height:427px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>

    <script src=""></script><fb:like-box href="" width="292" show_faces="true" stream="true" header="true"></fb:like-box>

The blog I need help with is

  2. Sorry, no - this just has a link in a widget that opens the likebox if the user clicks on it ...

I have gotten closer :) (althoug it is still heavily broken ... :)) (by creating the Box in facebook - opening it in a new tab and copying the code - well - some of it transferred

(if you want to have a look :D)

still looking for a solution though (and working on it ...)

  3. Use the BADGE code for your Facebook page. That's what I've done on my blog, and it works very well: you can see it in the sidebar.

  4. That would be a second rate solution if we cannot get the like box to work at all ... - it has many more functions (and is at least for my purposes much more interesting)

that is what I am talking about:

  5. knoflach,
You did get close! Only if it didn't look so terribly messy! Do work on it. There are many bloggers here who want a proper Facebook Likebox.

  6. after searching long for a solution it appears there is none - appearantly does not allow those scripts :(

(maybe if you have the css upgrade - but yeah ... - dissapointing)

  7. No, the CSS upgrade only allows you to change how the blog looks. It's not designed to add new features or to bypass security restrictions.
