Facebook Like Box widget is buggy

  1. Dear Support,
The Facebook Like Box widget is buggy. It either doesn't fill out the box; even when there are enough likes to do so or it fills the box with double faces. There are more users having this problem. Please see this discussion thread:

    Can you help us please?
And is there a possibility to have a variable height also? I read somewhere you chose not to because of problems. As you can see, it makes no difference with a 5-row fixed height; this gives problems too.

Thank you so much in advance.

    Kindest regards,
    Evita Martina

  2. Sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you're seeing this? Feel free to upload the screenshot into your media library, and post the URL in this thread.

  3. Dear Kardotim,
Thank you for replying. I'm glad to say, the problem has by now resolved itself.
Up to yesterday, I had a count of 36 Likes, and the widget was giving me trouble as described before. During the day, I got 37 Likes and... the problem of the double faces and not filling out completely, well, just stopped. It's now showing the way it should:

Can it be that for a certain size box space, you need a certain minimum amount of likes for the box to fill out correctly?

The size I use is 5 rows of 5 faces = 25 Likes. And as said before; up to 36 Likes, the widget was acting buggy. From 37, it's working okay. Making it a surplus of 12 Likes.

Too bad I myself didn't think of making a screenshot before. Now I really wish I had. So if there's anyone out there, still having this problem; please do. And please carry the torch. :-)

    I hope this helps someone.

    Greetings, Evita

  4. It would be helpful to catch this bug in action to try to see what is happening because it's hard to tell whether or not it's an issue on Facebook's side or not. If you can grab a screenshot of it, it may help, but it would be even better if we could see the bug happen live in order to take a closer look. I checked just now and it appears to be working normally for me.

  5. Dear designsimply,
That's exactly what I said; it's now working the way it should.
See my remark, just above yours. :-)

The widget acted buggy when I didn't have 'enough likes' —at least this is my assumption. So, if there's anybody else still having this problem, please do make a screenshot. And/or share the link to your blog here.

    Greetings, Evita

  6. :)

  7. Dear kardotim and designsimply,
While I've got your attention here; is there any possibility for you to add a variable height (again) to the Facebook Like Box widget? To be honest, I find 5 rows waaaaaay too big/high. Facebook gives a standard of 2 rows, when you use their code. That's elegant, noticeable enough and totally not boisterous. Is this an idea? Or at least shorten it a bit?

Curious to know what you think.

    Greetings, Evita

  8. Dear kardotim and designsimply,
Drats! But the doubles are back. See for yourselves. Rows 3 and 4:

I don't understand. I now have 39 Likes... There goes my former theory...
BTW, the only way you can see this 'happen live' it seems, is by revisiting my page. Over and over. And it seems, sooner or later it happens again.

    What now?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Greetings, Evita

  9. Dear guys,
Here's another one. Just to show that if you keep reloading my page; it happens again:

    Check out: Rows 1-1 and 3-3; Rows 1-3 and 5-1; Row 2-1 and 2-2; Rows 2-3 and 4-2.

    Curiously awaiting your answer.

    Greetings, Evita

  10. I believe this is an issue with how Facebook has setup their like box. See this explanation which I think covers what you have described:

  11. Dear designsimply,
*you've got to be kidding me; can't be this simple? can it?*
But you're right! Thank you! :-)

When I'm logged in to Facebook; I get the doubles. When I log out, the box fills out the rows correctly. OK... At least now I understand why.

So, in fact I don't really have to worry do I? For others won't be seeing the doubles? Or do they get them too, when they're logged in to Facebook?

    Greetings, Evita

  12. Yes, it appears to be fine for myself wether I'm logged in to Facebook or not.

  13. OK. Good. Thank you macmanx for replying. I now know I've got nothing to worry about.
Thank you so much for helping me out guys! All three of you. :-))

    Greetings, Evita

  14. You're welcome!
