    Here’s the link to part 1, resolved by staff but still an unresolved issue: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/fake-email-subscribers?replies=43

    @macmanx
    My site is blacked out today, and I’ve still managed to gain 6 followers to this point. Will someone at WordPress please admit that there is something going on here, you have some type of registration issue, whether it’s spambots or real people or whatever it is, and do something about it? Can we address this issue instead of just saying there is nothing to see here and move on. Obviously it’s a widespread issue, if you’ll just revisit my first post about this.

    To recap: Some of us have seen a LARGE spike in user subscriptions without a major increase in traffic. Many of these “users” link back to dummy blogs, and the user names are usually cryptic, like “345uidxksw” or something ridiculous like that. Since this first started in October, I’ve gained about 1,400 subscribers. I think I had around 800 before then. There are other reasons for me to also have gained subscribers, but it’s hard to tell which ones are legitimate and which ones are these dummy users.

    I hope you guys will really try to figure this problem out.

    Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is 101books.net.
