Falsely described "Improved posting experience"

  1. When I edit a post, is there any way of removing the note at the top of the screen, "switch to the new improved posting experience"? Ever since WordPress introduced it two years ago, without even the ability to save a draft, the alternative posting screen has been far far far ...... far worse, and I note that when I reverted back to the better way of editing, all that I had typed was deleted.

I suppose this means that WordPress will not bother, now, to iron out bugs in the good editing page.

Is this really to get page views for a page with a "Wordpress" address?

The blog I need help with is clareflourish.wordpress.com.

  2. No you cannot remove that message from your dashboard.

  3. I suppose this means that WordPress will not bother, now, to iron out bugs in the good editing page.

I don't assume that at all. I experience no issues with the classic editor located here > Dashboard > Posts > Add New

Where did you get that idea from? http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/new-post-editor-improvements?replies=8

The bottom line is that Staff are developing the new in house editor at the Beep Beep Boop link. Currently we have access to the classic editor but there is no long term commitment that the classic editor will always be available to us in any comment Staff have made on these support forums in any related threads.

  4. There are useful editing pages, with a black line at the top, and less useful editing pages with a blue line. Consider the bugs in your link: can't preview properly, can't tag easily. When it was introduced, you could not even save as a draft.

There are parallels with the new stats pages- better, as they show where views originate- and the new reader, which completely replaced the old tag pages. But the new version of "Comments I've made" blue top is superfluous.

What is the point of these pages with the blue top? Just to achieve less, and make it more difficult to edit?

Bugs on the black top ("Classic", if you must) include removing links from a picture if you move it in the text- unless you switch to text and cut and paste the html. I don't see the point of the recent change which removed the ability to add a Title, unless you add it in the html, either.

I really really want rid of that "There's now an easier way to create on WordPress.com! Switch to the improved posting experience." line, though. When WordPress says something I find demonstrably untrue, I trust it less.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions. You can keep track of the improvements here:

There haven't been changes to the classic editor. You can still add a title when you click on the edit icon of an image as seen here under Advanced Options:

This would be the same in the classic and new editor.

This wouldn't be possible at this time.
