Favicon not working on WordPress-hosted custom domain

    Hi all,

I have a wordpress blog that is hosted by WordPress but I have mapped it to a custom domain (registered through dreamhost.com). I uploaded the blavatar months ago. It appears as the icon for the page in my dashboard but when I open the blog () in IE, it just shows the IE logo.

    Any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is delpysword.com.

Is the favicon (blavatar) you uploaded showing on the right at settings > general in your dashboard?

IE sometimes gets confused. I just checked your site and the first time I loaded it, the favicon did not show, but the second time I viewed it, the icon showed up (red “S” on a black background).

Log out, clear your IE cache and cookies, restart IE and take another look. With IE, sometimes you might have to do this twice. It can be stubborn. :)

Tried clearing my cache and cookies then restarting IE several times. No luck. As long as it is working for others that should be good enough for now.

    Thanks for your help!

Yeah, I’m seeing it in Firefox and Safari, so I think you are good to go.

It could also be an issue with a misbehaving invisible proxy server at your ISP. They use those to speed up delivery of content and to lower their bandwidth usage, but sometimes the get messed up. Hopefully this will sort itself out in a day or two.

I’m on my work PC and it goes through a corporate proxy so it could be related to that. I’ll try from home later (after clearing the cache, etc.) and see how I go. Appreciate your support.

Ah, yes it could be that. Some corporate proxies are set up very strict.
