Featured Content Slider doesn't work

  1. The feature below is not working. How can I make it work?

Featured Content Slider: Use the ‘Featured Content’ options under Settings → Reading to select a tag for your featured content slider. Use this tag on posts with a featured image, and they’ll show up in the slider.

The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi Jon,

I don't see any posts at this blog:

You will need to set tags on your posts, not pages. Was this the blog giving you a problem? I'd be glad to continue to help you troubleshoot through the steps if you need me to!

  3. Zandyring thank you for responding. I have just added 2 test post with the tag "Feature" and I get a blank page.

  4. Hi Jon,

I see your homepage with a featured slider!

I added a screenshot to your media library:

In the screenshot you can see the first post image/link, and when I click the arrow to advance the slider, I see post 2 as well (not shown in the screenshot, however).

Are you still having trouble seeing this, or do I misunderstand your core issue?

  5. I actually figured out how to get the slider up on the front page. I had to create a static page. But now the side bar and posts below are missing. Any ideas?

Thank you for your continued help.

  6. Hi Jon,

That is actually a feature of a static homepage. If the homepage is static, it won't show your posts - they will show on a different page that you designate in your settings (which I see you did properly when you set your homepage to static). You must set these as different pages.

What you CAN do is change the template of the homepage (Posts Page is the title) so that it's not full-width by visiting it and making a change:

Under Page Attributes, you can select one of the other templates and preview to see if you'd like one of those layouts better.

    I hope that helps!

  7. Okay, so when I change post page from "front page template" to anything else the slider disappears.

Also, any idea on how to increase my menu font size?

  8. Now that I can help with!

Add this to your Custom CSS page:

    .main-navigation li {<br /> font-size: 140%;<br /> }

I played around a little, and 140% is about as large as you can go without the menu starting to wrap around (contact appearing on the bottom), but you can decrease it if you like.

    I hope that helps!

  9. Awesome!! Thank you for everything, you rock!!

  10. So glad to be able to help!
