Featured Header Images or a different header image for each page

  1. I would like to use the feature header images for each page but it is not working. i.e, for each page from the nav bar I would like to see a unique header. I uploaded an image to the featured image area of the "About us" page but the header remained the same for all pages. I have read your support for featured images and have a theme that supports it. I am using Twenty Eleven. What to do or perhaps more detail how to use this feature.

  2. Not sure if I am responding to my support or asking for support of the above question. Any help with Twenty Eleven custom headers would be great.
    Many thanks,

  3. Hi there,
Though I'm not using this theme now I did previously and had no trouble uploading featured image headers to each page that were different from the front page image headers.
The theme dimensions specify 1000 x 288 pixels but it also states flexible as well.

There is a difference between Custom Header Images and Featured Images. Although they happen to serve the same purpose in Twenty Eleven, they're actually two separate functions, which is why they behave differently.

Custom Header Images can be flexible height or width in Twenty Eleven. This is the image (or series of random images) that displays on every post by default unless a Featured Image is set for the post.

Featured Images are set per post, and these are a fixed width and height of 1000 x 288. There is no way to crop featured images to a flexible width/height the way you can for the custom header.

Sorry for any confusion; I hope this clears things up!

  4. Setting a Featured Image >

If you cannot locate the page attributes module:
In your dashboard, the Screen Options pull down tab is located in the upper right corner of your Dashboard (under the admin bar). The module listing changes depending on the screen you're viewing.

You need to include the Pages Modules:
Page – Likes and Shares, Page Attributes, Featured Image, Discussion, Comments**, Page Revisions, Slug, Author, Revisions, Writing Helper
