I would like to remove the box on the front page just above of my post that says “Featured post”. Can I do this?
The blog I need help with is fatchancefarmstead.com.
Would you mind describing the box you’re seeing that you want to remove? Above the featured post I only see your header graphic right now. Perhaps you’ve already changed something? Just let me know if you still need help.
If so, would it be possible to upload a screenshot to help in troubleshooting?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot, if you’re not sure: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library and then post a link so I can see it.
The box I mean is the one that has the text “Featured post” in it. It is directly below the logo “Fatchance Farmstead”
Now I understand, thanks. In order to remove the words “Featured post” and the lines above and below it, you would need the Custom Design upgrade to add some CSS code. You can learn more about the upgrade here:
Once you have the upgrade, let me know and I’ll provide you with the code you’ll need to add to get rid of “Featured post.”
Well that’s really too bad.
I see that you marked the (only) post http://fatchancefarmstead.com/2012/11/29/hello-world/ as sticky, that’s why the “Featured post” label is displayed. I removed the “sticky” option, so the words “Featured post” are no longer there. (If you do want the “sticky”, you can re-open that post in the Editor and re-check the box, or let me know and I’ll do it for you.)
It looks like you are interested in having a more of a static site (a collection of pages) than a blog. Is that right? In this case, you might find our support article on Using WordPress.com to Create a Website useful.
That’s awesome. Thanks!
Glad we were able to help you!
