Firefox v IE7
I write my posts in Word 2007. I use Firefox as my main browser and paste my posts using the Word paste option. All is well and posts look fine through Firefox but when I use IE7 (at work) I notice I get the following at the beginning of each post:
<!–[if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 <![endif]–><!–[if gte mso 9]> <![endif]–> <!–[endif]–>
This has only started to happen in the last few weeks – has anyone else had this problem?
Obviously it’s solvable by going in a deleting the line but it is irritating.
yes. i was very annoyed with that code.
when i copy a symbol from Word,, that code always appear on my post.
so i must deleted it.
can anyone solve this problem?
Don’t copy from Word. That’s it. Use Windows Live Writer, or Notepad instead.
Why not to use Word: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/ .
There is an icon on the extended tool bar for pasting things in from Word, but it isn’t foolproof and can still in some instances leave messy code in the stuff you paste: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/ .
I seem to have solved it – easily. I have discovered that if I opt to paste in into the HTML view rather than the normal View – then none of the extra code from Word comes across. No idea why but it works!
