Flash photo uploader not working, have updated flash player

  1. I need to use the flash uploader as I have a large volume of photos to upload and the browser method is well, it takes too long. I have updated my flash players (to the best of my knowledge) and it's till displaying the grey "Cancel upload" button that is not clickable, when I try to upload using the flash uploader. There is no button even visible for choosing pictures to upload - before I did the flash upgrade there was at least a box with a red "x" where the choose pictures button was.

This is frustrating, I haven't uploaded pictures in almost two weeks and I need to for my business and personal aspects of my blog. It was working fine the last time I made an update.

Just wondering if this is a common problem with wordpress or if I need more work on my flash player. Thanks anyone :)

The blog I need help with is

  2. What browser are you using? Many browser problems can be cured by logging out, deleting you browser cache and cookies and then logging back in again.

You might also want to try a different browser than the one you normally use and see if that works.

  3. I am using IE 9 now. I was using IE 8 before. The problem was happening before the update though (part of the reason I updated, was thinking it would help? no such luck).

I have tried logging out, deleting the cache and cookies and logging back in, to no avail.

I'll try downloading Firefox and see if that helps. I'll let you know. Thanks!

  4. I solved it.

I downloaded Firefox and checked another site I was having problems with (a movie, not on YouTube or Hulu, which were not affected). Instead of the white square where the movie was not showing up in IE, there was a prompt to install a flash plugin. I did that, and everything works again, including the flash uploader in my blog. Thank goodness. That was getting irritating.

  5. Glad to hear you found the reason for your trouble! A site to bookmark for next time

As far as IE9, I'm not certain that it and are entirely speaking the same language yet and, as an XP user, I probably never will be. But perhaps someone else can chime in?
