Flikr Widget

  1. petercbennett01

When is the Flickr Widget going to be fixed? I know Yahoo have removed RSS and it is a rewrite, but it really is too long since it was broken and it now needs to be fixed...Agree?

The blog I need help with is

  2. I assume you have followed this guide >
I did not know that the Flickr widget was not working. I'll tag this thread for a Staff followup and response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  3. petercbennett01

Yes, Yahoo removed the RSS from Flickr, making the widget ineffective. The original widget allowed sets or photostreams to be linked into the sidebar, but with no RSS the proces is broken

  4. Okay then but it does not sound like Staff here at can do anything about that change on Flickr's end of things. Have you posted to Flickr support?

  5. petercbennett01

No, RSS is gone gone gone. Google & Yahoo have deleted it for security reasons. There are replacement widgets in the system, using the Flickr ID instead of RSS. You need to go down that route

  6. I took a look and I do see your Flickr widget working properly. Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

  7. petercbennett01

No, it's not. I substituded the Flickr "interesting" stream just as a placeholder, that's what you are seeing. You can't anymore specify a specific set or photostream

Please dig further. Really your old widget doesn't work anymor, honestly it doesn't.

  8. Selecting a specific set is currently broken due to a recent change on Flickr. We’re looking into that.

Photostreams should still work. Let me give it a try, what's your Flickr address?

  9. petercbennett01

Yes, I agree. Photostreams is a pretty crude tool, because it isn't filtered to your blog content. Sets is a must

my flickr ID is 48646419@N05 full link to my photostream is:

    have fun

  10. I've just set the widget for you, could you please take a look to see if it works?

    Thank you!

  11. petercbennett01

Yes, I agree that gets the photostream, which is where we were in July. But we still can't get sets, which is the point of a specific blog

  12. That's something that has to be enabled by Flickr. However, I found a thread where more Flickr users report this issue: . You might want to post a new thread in their help forum to raise more awareness about the lack of RSS feeds for sets.

    Thank you!

OK, let's keep pushing Flickr on this one, then. Please direct any similar queries to the same link

FYI this issue on the link supplied was closed by Flickr, so I have raised it as a new topic. Please push any one else to that topic
