    how can i change the font colors for:

    1. the menu that has all the page titles
    2. the titles of each page name on the actual page themselves
    2. my sidebar text
    3. my footer text
    4. and the main color for my general blog posts

    i’m sorry if this is very easy and basic. i am a brand new blogger and am just starting out!! thank you in advance for your help!

    The blog I need help with is

    1. Menu text main color and hover color:

    .nav a {
        color: #CC0000;
    .nav a:hover {
        color: #00dd19;

    2. Titles on pages:

    .pagetitle {
        color: #dd8800;

    2. sidebar text (links in cats/archives)

    #sidebar a {
        color: #dd0055;
    #sidebar a:hover {
        color: #0055dd;

    3. footer widget text and titles

    #footer p {
        color: #c4dd00;
    #footer .widgettitle {
        color: #8800dd;

    4. On the about page, I see you have assigned a color from within the posts. To set a color overall, you would have to remove those color declarations in the pages/posts themselves since those will always override the CSS rules. The following would be where the general color is set for the theme, and then more specific rules would typically be in the CSS for individual elements such as titles and links.

    body {
    color: #00c4dd;

    Last thing: excuse my obnoxious colors. I do that so that we can see the color changes easily. You can edit them as desired. :)

    that worked perfectly! thank you so so much! and your colors were really helpful : )

    one last question…is it possible to change the background color of a drop-down title off the navigation bar? (a sub item page)

    Yes. Try this.

    .nav li li {
    background: #ffe8f2;

    And if you want to change the hover color.

    .nav li li:hover {
    background: #FCD4E5

    worked perfectly!! thanks!
