Format Icon – Avid Theme

    I am using the Avid Theme.

    Is there a way to remove the little icons on the post previews that indicate the format of the post – the pencil, camera, etc.? I have the Custom Design Upgrade. I would like to delete the icons or change their colour. Could you tell me how to do it?

    The blog I need help with is humboldtjourney.wordpress.com.

    To remove them, add this:

    .post-icon {
    background-image: none !important;
    }

    Changing their color is more complicated, because they are images: you’d need to copy the original images, edit them in an image editing application, upload the new versions to your blog, copy their URLs then add the appropriate CSS. Are you interested in this?

    Hello justpi!

    Thank you very much for your answer – that explains it very good. I am interested in this. Could you explain it to me more detailed? Thank you!!

    You’re welcome.
    For example, this is the icon for the standard format:
    http://wordpress.com/wp-content/themes/premium/avid/images/standard-icon.png
    You copy it to your computer, edit it, upload it to your blog via Media > Add New, click Edit, copy its URL from the File URL field of the Save module.
    Then you add this in the CSS editor and paste the URL where I’m showing:

    .format-standard .post-icon {
    background-image: url("IMAGE URL HERE");
    }

    Same thing for the other icons, if you need them.
