I have read and reread your support documentation and followed classes on Lynda.com to find out why I cannot get my posts to appear with a gallery. I have gone through every step you list to create the post, but when I click publish I see the following message:
“This gallery has no images. Please upload some images through the Edit page for this post, and your gallery will appear.”
When I go back into the edit manager and open the media files within the post the images I’ve assigned to the gallery are visible in the backend. I am working on a Mac and using the Photography theme. Please help.
Please use the support documentation as it applies directly to free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
An image gallery will display a set of thumbnail images attached to a particular post or page. When clicked, gallery images are displayed in a full-size carousel view, or you can choose the slideshow option to have them move forward automatically. http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/
here are a few options to control how your site displays. You can:
Show or hide gallery posts on your blog.
Show or hide your gallery titles and image descriptions.
Choose to use captions on your gallery showcase page. https://photographydemo.wordpress.com/gallery/
