en WordPress.com Forums › Support Genesis framework on wordpress.com blog?? Author Posts October 29, 2010 at 6:27 pm #533808 allegratorMember So…I’m a totally novice here. Last year I started a wordpress.com website and am self-taught on most of the basics. That said, I’m at a point where I’d like to build things up a bit and have just learned about the Genesis Framework. The problem is, I have no idea how it works — and I don’t want to spend the money on it without knowing what I’m getting myself into. Is the Genesis framework something I can even USE with my existing wordpress blog? Would I have to start all over again?? Any direction or advice would be much appreciated. The blog I need help with is awesomeasaone.wordpress.com. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/ http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ Short answer: To use genesis framework, you would have to self-host a wordpress blog somewhere like godaddy, bluehost, etc. October 29, 2010 at 7:36 pm #533920 1tessModerator Emeritus If you are using WordPress.COM, then you can not use Genesis framework. If you are using WordPress.ORG, then you are in the wrong forum: http://wordpress.org/support/ Differences between wp.COM and wp.ORG: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ October 29, 2010 at 7:37 pm #533921 1tessModerator Emeritus ~hello Richard!
