The other thing they have done is the “posts” page is NOT the landing page for the site. The landing page is a static page, the posts page is accessible from the menu. Help is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/reading-settings/
You can do the exact same thing.
Importing and exporting can be achieved from the Dashboard, Tools and the help is found at http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/ and http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
Well, I suppose you could install a feed parser that parses the feed from your WordPress.com blog, but we can’t provide any help with that.
Since you already have WordPress installed, it’s probably best to simply import your content: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
OK, I went & did the import on my website, the posts from my blog do now show up in my website dashboard, I went to settings for reading & made the “post page” set to blog (the page I created, which is where i want my blog posts to show up). When I go to that page however it looks like this: http://www.aMERSEREAUdesign.com/portfolio/?page_id=713
No idea whats wrong.
That is, as we’ve told you, a wordpress.ORG install, and you have to be at WordPress.ORG for assistance with that.
Im sorry I don’t understand what that means. There is a difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org?
Thanks for that @timetheif, regardless however, I understand now, that the import isn’t what I want.
So My question now is, @thesacredpath, your last response to me makes sense now, and I appreciate the clarity. However, Im not sure how to make 1 single page act like a blog, and leave the rest as is.
When I initially set this up clearly I had help that isn’t available to me now, and a lot of code was taken out and moved around to rid my site on the actual pages of comments and widgets etc, so it appeared as a website and not as a blog.
^ That was typed really confusingly I am extremely tired and I changed what I was intending to say a few times and didn’t re-read it before I sent it. I should have. Sorry.
Everytime I try to log in over there with my user name I use here or the one I use for my site I can no get in. It says I dont exist.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate sites > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You need to click the link http://wordpress.org/support/ go to the top right hand corner of that page, register a WordPress.org username account, and then post to the WordPress.org support forums.
TURNS OUT THE WHOLE TIME ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS “REDIRECT” THE LINK AT THE TOP TO THE BLOG.
I only now realize this is what I wanted to do bc I found a plug in, tried it and was like doh! This is what I wanted!!!!!
Sorry to all, thanks for trying to help! :)
