Hello!
I was just wondering if you all here at WordPress.com would ever allow Google Analytics to be used? I understand that while I have a .com I cannot use Google Analytics but I was wondering if you all could allow us to. From what I have read it would make a lot of us .com bloggers extremely happy.

Staff will return on August 15th and you can use this link at that time to communicate your desire directly to them if you wish. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

I too have read the link you posted which merely says “no it can’t be used”. Is there any intention to work on this?

Yes, a lot of people have asked about this and since that Support doc was last updated in June 2011, then there’s no change in the status quo. If there will be a change? That is information that only Staff would know.

You will have to contact Staff to get an answer. Here’s the Staff contact link. After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

P.S. Speculation > Note that only one Google Analytics script per blog is allowed and if WordPress.com is already running that script on our blogs, then that may be why we cannot run it.

You did not comprehend what I said. I said it’s possible that WordPress.COM is already running that Google Analytics script on our free hosted blogs.
We bloggers cannot run any scripts on our free hosted blogs at all. That’s stated here.
The bottom line is you will have to contact Staff to get a more definitive answer and I supplied the link for you to do that above.

If you need a system for tracking email marketing campaigns, you need to be hosted elsewhere. That is simply not possible here.
