Google hit mistakes 2-year old blog for current post

In my post yesterday (6-14-19), I noted that Google has never detected an exact reference to the term “anthropocentric political science” but would now due to my post. And today it does. But strangely it returns a post I did on 8-9-17 in which the phrase does not occur. It does not return yesterday’s post — which presumably is the one and only current reference to the term on the Internet! Any advice on helping Google clear this up?

The blog I need help with is navigatingcomplexity.net.

    Hi there,

While the phrase doesn’t appear in the post content in the post from 2017, it does appear in the sidebar of that post in the recent posts widget. This is what Google is picking up.

Please keep in mind that it can take Google anything from a few days to a few weeks to crawl a site and update the info in its index.

To speed this up, you can verify the site with Google Search Console (GSC):

Once the site is verified, you can use the “fetch as Googlebot and index” feature in GSC to index a specific page or post in a shorter period of time.
