Google's 1 button
The blog I need help with is brammofan.wordpress.com.
Actually, I just found that it is a feature you can add under the “Sharing” tab of your dashboard. Yes!
I haven’t had time to check. Thanks for sharing this information others can benefit from.
It’s so nice that the Google +1 button is on WP.com not long after it was launched.
Just wondering if it would be possible to choose which size to use. The Google +1 button comes in 4 sizes (small, medium, standard, and tall). Currently, small (15 px) is in use which is almost as big as the 16px icons in the Sharing tab. However, the medium (20px) matches the Tweet, Linked In, and Facebook Like buttons – all of which are similar to Google +1 in the sense that they all have counters.
If there were an option for sizes, users would be able choose either the Google +1 15px to match the other 16px sharing icons or the 20px Twitter, Linked In, and Facebook Like buttons. Not to mention, match the white WP Share button.
And on a related subject of social sharing choices, would it be possible to have the option of using either the “Like” or the “Recommend” Facebook button? The current option is only the “Like” button.
ould it be possible to have the option of using either the “Like” or the “Recommend” Facebook button
See here for both Facebook “like” and “share” buttons. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/its-possible-facebook-share-and-like-buttonsat-the-same-time?replies=88

Your WordPress.com username is linked to a typepad site. If you would like to link your WordPress.com blog to your WordPress.com username that would mean we could click and locate the blog instantly. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
I have been using BOTH Facebook Share and Facebook Like for a long time now. There are 2 Facebook icons in my blog posts, a Share and a Like. My question was about the option to choose from “Like” and “Recommend”. They are practically the same function, just with different wording. I have a self-hosted site in which I use the “Recommend” button in lieu of “Like”. In both my WP.com blog and also in my self-hosted site, I use both FB Share and FB Like/Recommend.
Yes, Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> Account Details is where I changed where my username links to, and I had set it a long time ago to its current link.
Thank you for your immediate response. I suppose it’s up to the WP team now to provide us with the Google +1 options.

Has anyone tested the new button on there sites?
When I click the google+1 button and it minimized my browser.: firefox 4
I don’t know if its my browser, a wordpress bug, or a google bug.
I’m running Firefox 3.6.17, clicking Google+1 the first time popped up a windows to confirm the public profile. Subsequent G+1 clicks (on other posts) works right away. I guess it’s a Firefox 4 thing .. I can’t upgrade to 4 yet because quite a number of Add-ons still aren’t 100% compatible.
I figured it out with my firefox 4 browser and another browser that is similar to firefox 4.
clicking on the Google+1 button opens a new browser window with G+1 that resized and smaller.
I forgot that I have firefox 4 browser set to open all new windows as tabs. clicking the google+1 button results in creating a new tab and shrinking the only browser window I have open to a tiny window — the end result is ugly.
To sum up: it was a browser setting that cause the problem. I can live with it.
