I have a few questions. It’s for a company blog, and I’m not entirely sure if we’ve paid for a wordpress.org account. We purchased the domain a while back. I’d like to do a guided transfer, but need to make sure that’s actually what I need to do. Make sense?
Thanks for the prompt response.
The Guided Transfer is intended to move a blog off WordPress.com to a self-hosted site. WordPress.org is just a regular website where you can download the free WordPress software. It doesn’t host sites directly.
We take that free software and we install it for you at one of our recommended hosts:
We then move all your content over to the new location and tailor its setup as closely as possible to the WordPress.com experience.

Okay, cool. So then as far as the look and process to upload new posts. That’s all the same? We have a variety of contributors so I don’t want to mess up our whole process….
Yes. A self-hosted blog is a very similar experience to WordPress.com and we do our best to make it look as close to what you see at WordPress.com as possible.
It’s not an exact copy, but it’s pretty close.
