I’m interested in transferring from .com to .org and duplicating my site in it’s entirety. I probably will be using GoDaddy as my host. A rep at GoDaddy said that my page is too complicated to use Guided Transfer and would need to hire a computer expert to migrate it.
Can somebody at WordPress please give me their opinion? The site I need help with is SocialEyesNYC.
The blog I need help with is socialeyesnyc.com.
I meant to post this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/codepoetcom
We cannot create discussion threads here in these technical support forums and we do not provide website design services.
The Code Poet Directory lists Enterprise-level WordPress professionals, web designers, and developers. It’s brought to you by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and the largest operator of WordPress sites. http://directory.codepoet.com/
Forgive me, but I’m not clear on your response. I was not asking a design question, but a technical support question.
Let me re-phrase. Is it possible to transfer my site as is from wordpress.com to wordpress.org without losing my theme, it’s design or any of my current information.
Yes, if you’re interested, we do offer an upgrade called Guided Transfer (available in the Store section of your blog’s Dashboard) where we take care of everything for you: http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
Once that’s done, you can move your content following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
We do offer yearly and one-time premium support packages for self-hosted WordPress sites through our VIP program, available at http://vip.wordpress.com
Thanks so much. I will read up and give a shout if I have any other questions.
