Having Trouble Setting Up
-
So I bought my domain name from GoDaddy, created a blog on WordPress, then mapped the blog to the domain name using the Domain Manager on GoDaddy by setting the DNS settings.
Then purchased hosting from DreamHost, and am having trouble setting everything up. I know I need to edit the DNS settings on GoDaddy, but I have been told I need obviously the 3 name servers from WordPress for mapping and the 3 name servers from DreamHost in my GoDaddy Domain Manager.
I also downloaded FileZilla, and put in my DreamHost server name, username, and password, but I don’t see the WordPress information on the right of the program like I thought I would.
I want to install Thesis, and this is my first time ever doing anything like this, and really could use some help. Thank you for any help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry but that site is not a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM so we cannot help you with it. WordPress.COM blogs and wordpress.org installs operate on different code. The correct support forum to get support for that blog is here > http://wordpress.ORG/support
For more clarity please read the sticky post at the head of this forum

or the summary provided by Staff in the support documentation. -
Your name-servers are set to Dereamhost (good) – but you really should do two things – make friends over at WordPress.ORG and finish your install (install first, make friends second).

hey wait I think you have made a blog on wordpress.com and have bought a DNS on GOdaddy thing…
What you are trying to do is called as DOMAIN MAPPING which is not free at WordPress.com
Once you pay for domain mapping to wordpress.com, you would get all the setting… Further if you dont subscribe for domain mapping to wordpress.com, even if you are successfully able to map you blog you shall receive a error that this blog does have sufficient right….
In short you need to pay.. for an official support document please refer to http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
If this was what you were seeking for please do say thanks to me :p
If this was not what you were seeking for, then please clarify!! -
And just for your GK you dont need to edit three DNS records (name servers)
rather you just need to modify your A record in DNS settings, for url say youurl.com you need to provide destination IP address… in this case the IP adress of your blog.
But still you need to buy DOMAIN MAPPING service from WORDPRESS!!

I think they are trying to set a site up on Dreamhost and have confused WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG software install.

Blogs don’t have static IPs at WordPress.com, so you will need to change your nameservers instead following the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
