Header image not 'editable' anymore
I created a new blog this morning : crockofshirt.wordpress.com using the Responsive Theme. I customized it to have a header image that linked my external website using the them Customize link.
After lunch the Customize bar changed – it looks like an upgrade happened or something.
I can no longer remove or change the Header image I had placed there this morning. I can add and remove a new one using the Header option in the WP dashboard. But the one I put there this morning is inaccessible.
The blog I need help with is crockofshirt.wordpress.com.
I customized it to have a header image that linked my external website using the them Customize link.
Linking a header image to an external site is a deceptive linking practice. When I experience that on any blog I report it to Google instantly.

I didn’t try to do it using any special methods – I just opened the customize panel, uploaded an image and supplied a link. I haven’t paid to access the Custom Design mode or anything.
I was going to re-apply the theme to get rid of any erroneous code – but I can’t even find the theme anymore??
Thank you for tagging this post and will wait patiently :)
Is the image itself still in your Dashboard’s Media section?
it is not showing up in the Media section.
Ah, that’s probably the problem.
If it’s not in the Media section, it’s gone for good.
Please try uploading and saving it via Appearance -> Header in your blog’s Dashboard.
I tried uploading it – now I have 2 that look the same. One links to Blog home page and one links to the external website.
One is an Image widget, which you can adjust at Appearance -> Widgets in your blog’s Dashboard. It’s in the “Top” widget area.
You are right!! Thank you :)
