Header Images using the Sketch Theme

  • Hi Everyone! I have some questions regarding the implementation on Header Images into my website using the sketch theme.I’ve read the Sketch forum but I can’t seem to find the right answers

1.) Is there a way to link the header image to another page on the website? For example, I was to create a header that says “visit our blog” and when you click on it it links to the blog page etc

2.) Is there a way to set a different header image for each page? I know there is the “randomize header” option, but i would like for each header to be custom to the site it is on

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Header images across WordPress are generally not designed to do that. Most headers either automatically link to the homepage, or have no link at all.

A hacky workaround is to add a link in a text widget and then position it with some custom CSS. If you needed help with that you could post in the CSS Customization forum. The code will be different depending what theme you choose, so I’d suggest being sure you’ve made your final theme choice before going this route.

Only some themes have this feature – what they do is pull in a page or post’s featured image and if it meets the minimum size requirement for that theme, it displays the image in the header area. A few examples of themes that work this way are Twenty Twelve and Bushwick.
