I am trying to add another column to my Home page and have not had any success finding tutorials or usable guidance. My Home page is a Static page. Can you guide me to the proper tutorial or, perchance, write some directions.
Also, how can I get rid of the “POST” area at the bottom of the page??

The blog I need help with is rockwoodson.com.

Your home page is using a “Front Page Template” of the Twenty Twelve theme. You can either continue using this template and add front-page-only widgets below in one or two columns (add widgets via Appearance > Widgets), or you can use a different (e.g. Default) template, by editing your page and selecting a different template from the dropdown.

For more information about using the Twenty Twelve theme, please see the documentation at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentytwelve/

Hmmm, I’m not sure what you are referring to, do you mean “leave a reply” e.g. at the bottom of this page: http://rockwoodson.com/about-dr-nazarian/ ?

You can edit the page in question and uncheck “Allow Comments” under “Discussion” if you wish to disable comments. For more information about enabling/disabling comments, please refer to the following support article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/
